Asterophora parasitica is a species of fungus that grows as a parasite on other mushrooms. It was originally described as Agaricus parasiticus by Jean Baptiste Francois Pierre Bulliard in 1791, sanctioned under that name by Elias Magnus Fries in his 1822 Systema Mycologicum, and later transferred to the genus Asterophora by Rolf Singer in 1951.
